Biography
Born 1981 in Westminster, London, Thomas William Hiddleston is an actor of British pedigree.
At Eton College, Hiddleston boarded in Dunford House and continued to read Classicas at Pembroke College, Cambridge.
After graduation from the Royal Academy of Dramatic Arts, Hiddleston signed with Hamilton Hodell, the notable agency for actors. Thomas Hiddleston played major parts in the company of writer and director Declan Donnellan such as Cheek, and The Changeling where he went on to receive an Ian Charleson Award 2006 Commendation. In the Cymbeline, Hiddleston won the Laurence Olivier Award.
In theater, Hiddleston has done work for the Donmar Warehouse including such works as Shakespeare’s Ohthello where he worked alongside Ewan McGregor to much critical acclaim. Thomas also had a role in Lvov in Checkhov’s Ivanov.
On Television, played Detective Martinsson in the BBC drama Wallander and Bill Hazledine in Suburban Shootout.
On film, Thomas Hiddleston played the son of the Prime Minister Winston Churchill, Randolph, in the film The Gathering Storm (2002). In 2007, Thomas also played the leading role in Joanna Hogg’s Unrelated. He was also cast as lead in Joanna’s second film Archipelago in 2010.
On May 18 2009, Thomas Hiddleston was announced to portray Loki in the Marvel Comics production, Thor with a released date of May 2011.
He’s since been cast to star in Woody Allen’s Midnight in Paris (2011), Steven Spielberg’s film adaptation of War Horse (2011), and Terence Davies’ The Deep Blue Sea (2012).
Tom is now set to reprise his role of Loki in the Marvel movie The Avengers (2012)
